Hello fellow journalers…wow its been a while! I have had a break from posting here for a while to try to get a new perspective on things. I have taken on a I am happy with the way I am attitude and how people think of me means nothing more than the dirty look they want to give me. I do not want to live a life of anger and bitterness because others have chosen to live that way. They will not drag me into it!
So that being said, I am loving my husband and my children and grandchildren with all that is in me and the rest of my family and friends can join me if they like!
You all have a blessed and happy day!

Hello, it seems that no one is really following my blog much anymore, so I was thinking about cancelling it and doing something else with my time, although I really love decorating and changing it, and really enjoyed my time I did have visiting and meeting so many friends on here. I just wish that I was more active with it and could visit more friends. I may keep it up for a bit longer just to see if anything changes.

Hi everyone how are you today? I am doing alright…just same ol same ol. There really isnt alot going on in my life right now so I havnt posted lately. I am disliking everyone at my work…they are all fake and liers and will say anything to your face and stab you in the back later. So two faced..ugh! Other than that, my father is still struggling to breath and is on oxygen full time. The dr put him on double the water pill to help dry up the fluid around his lungs. I am hoping if we can get that taken care of he will be a new man and get his energy back. Please pray he will be alright! Well, got to go, try to post again soon…big hugs, Grammy Laurie

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I know I did!
I am happy to say my dad who had a procedure today to remove fluid from around his lungs did great and they removed a quart of fluid from around one of his lungs. They did not do the other one however I guess they only do one at a time. Lets pray this puts him on the road to recovery!
Please pray for my Aunt Nay, as she is having surgery tomorrow to remove cancer in her colon.

It is Saturday and my day off and what do I do, I wake up at 530 in the morning..ugh. I am sorry I havnt kept up with you again, but alot of drama and goings on in my life have kept me from my computer. My father right now is in the hospital after collpasing and they are running a battery of tests on him. They started out saying that it looks like it might be lung cancer (I hate it when they say what it could be before they know) and still havnt ruled that out. They cant do the test that puts a tube down his throat and into his lungs to get a sample until he has been off of his plavix for a week. So in the meantime they are running a whole bunch of other tests too. His blood oxygen level was down to 71 which I assume is really bad which is why he collapsed. He has had pnumonia for the last 3 months and it hadnt cleared up. He also has emphezema. He is 75 years old and so fragile now after loosing alot of weight with the pnumonia. Him and my mother are under a lot of stress right now with other things going on and I would just ask that you pray for them both but especially for my father.
I have been doing pretty good on my diet so far even though I havnt posted my meals like I said I would. I have lost 4 pounds by just cutting out all the junk again. I am happy about that. I went out and bought a big assortment of fruits and veggies and instead of eating the junk food, I have been really good about eating them.
I am going to be starting a new page called a womans daily journal, which I found while surfing, but I need some time to get it up and running. I think it will be very refreshing. more to come on that.
Well, I am going to go see what the news and weather is for the day, you all stay healthy and warm!
Big hugs, Grammy Laurie

Ok you crazy bloggers, I am here again to visit a bit. I am trying so hard to stay connected with my journal this year. It is a great way to let off some steam or reflect on the day…I just don’t seem to be able to stay focused on one thing for very long…I get distracted with a phone call or someone coming in to check in to the hotel then forget to come back and post. I am going to try alot harder this year to focus on certain tasks like this that I have put on the back burner. I go through reading others journals and come across some very beautiful writers…poignant and thoughtful and wonder why I can’t write like they do. I guess it is a gift given them by God. I am still wondering what my gift or talent is. I am not a writer obviously, or a singer…(hubby will attest to that even tho I sing and hum anyways…lol) and I am not a poet or a linguist or a dancer or a scholar…what is it I wonder…that special thing about me that others might find appealling…it eludes me….maybe one day it will pop out of me like a flower hidden beneath the snow. I would love to be able to say that I have done this or done that and it was a blessing to someone. Well, at any rate, it is almost 10 pm and I have spent my evening at work reading others journals and trying to make a signature for my emails, which I did end up completing. I am off to watch 20/20 on abc…you all have a very good night!

Hello! I am so glad to see the new year! I have waited a long time for it to get here..lol…365 days to be exact!
I am hoping and praying that this year is so much better than last year and that we have a great year! I pray your year is full of blessings and great joy and prosperity!
I have had to work the last two nights but it is time and a half, so I dont mind especially with as bad as things are right now, I am thankful for my job. I spent most of the day before I came in to work lounging around in my pj’s and watching tv and chatting with my sister on the internet. I love that. Not enough pj days if you ask me. Well, as it is almost time to go I will talk with you again tomorrow..good night friend.

Hello again everyone, I missed posting yesterday, but I am here today…look at me being a much better blogger..lol. I have had the last 5 days off work, but today it will be back to the grind. I work everyday from 3-11 at the hotel here. I have gotten all my Christmas decorations down and packed away again. I was glad to have that done. I love the lights and all the pretty decorations, but after a few weeks, it seems like it is in the way and I am ready for a fresh clean room again with little clutter.
I am really trying hard to be good on my new way of eating, but when there is left over christmas pies and cookies and candys, it is really hard! But I have cleaned it all out of the house now…no I didnt eat it out..haha….but it is gone now and I hope it will be easier to eat right with good food in the house again.
yesterday breakfast:
oatmeal with raisins
coffee
Lunch:
1/2 of a big and tasty burger from mcdonalds
about 10 french fries
diet coke
Dinner:
Oatmeal again..it just sounded good
toast
Today I had coffee for breakfast and 1/2 a bagel with cream cheese
Lunch:
Chinese food…mostly chicken and veggies
Is everyone ready for a new year? I know I am! I pray each of you have a blessed new year!
Big hugs, Grammy Laurie

Today is the first day of the rest of my life and my decision to get healthy and eat right is my goal.
Breakfast:
2 eggs scrambled with low fat cheese
madarine orange and peach slices
coffee
Lunch:
mandarine oranges and peaches
Dinner:
Homemade Beef Stew
2 buscuits
Now to exercise…
I went to the peddlers mall and walked around there for an hour today. What fun and I powered walked thru part of it off and on to rev my metabolism a bit more…a hint I read about. If you walk slow then rev it up to a power walk then slow down and continue this way you will get more out of your walk and loose weight quicker.

Good afternoon dear friends and fellow bloggers! I am so excited for Christmas now because I finally got all the shopping done and the presents wrapped, and even got all the stockings stuffed and by the chimney with care…lol! I got the food all bought and baking all done. And now, it is time to rest. I am so looking forward to seeing my little grandbabies open their gifts…I am just giddy. I love seeing little ones eyes light up when they see something new and shiny!
I was reading another journal and came across a really funny excerpt that she had found herself and thought I would post it here for all of you.
9 Words…
1.) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
2.) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
3.) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine
4.) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!
5.) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)
6.) That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7.) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you’re welcome.
8.) Whatever: Is a women’s way of saying F@!K OFF or leave me alone or suit yourself.
9.) Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking ‘What’s wrong?’ For the woman’s response refer to #3.
I am giving this advice to men you know, to warn them about arguments they can avoid if they hear any of those words and to all the women to give them a good laugh, cause they know it’s true!
Well that is it for now…have a really great day!
