About

Hi, My name is Laurie and I am a 45 year old Mother and Grandmother. I am married to my best friend of 28 years, Pete. We have 4 children and 2 Grandsons. I love to play on my computer and would spend the whole day on here if life would let me. I love to read and relax...I wish I could do both more often. Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons, and I love to celebrate holidays! Have a great time looking around and dont forget to leave me a note! Hugs to you!

Grandma''s and Grandpa's
are everything nice
Like presents and candy
and raspberry ice
And chocolate fudge sundaes,
with cherries on top
And popcorn and peanuts
and grape soda pop
In winter or summer,
in rain or in sun
Grandma's and Grandpa's
are wonderful fun

Our cat Gizmo, we call him gizzy, is getting old.  We woke this morning to him not being able to walk around and he was breathing really shallow, and he hasnt been eating well the last few days.  We took him to the vet hospital and they took blood work and xrays and said he has severe arthritis in his spine which may be causing the problem, or his kidneys or liver may be shutting down, although the blood work didnt show any problems in those areas.  So we are at a loss.  They said they could keep him for observation and give him fluids, at a whopping 850 bucks for 3 days, or we could force feed him and give him pain medication for the artritis and see what happens in the next couple of days.  So we opted for the latter.  The pain medicine makes him very lathargic and he is very disoriented.  They also gave him pills to increase his appetite, which it did, and he ate without us having to force feed him, but I dont want him going around every day so high on pain meds that he isnt any good that way either.  So we some prayers for our little friend.  He is 15 years old, which is pretty old for a cat, but he has never had health problems and up until a few days ago was running and jumping onto furniture still.  So some prayers for Gizzy would be helpful.

          Sunny and warm

Today went well with the yard sale. I made some extra money and only stayed open until 1 pm.  Amanda and Matt both made a little money also on their stuff.  Now comes the part I hate and that is boxing the rest up and hauling it off to the goodwill.  It has been beautiful and sunny today…perfect for the yard sale.

Hi Everyone!  As you can see Grammy got a new theme for my blog!  I am so excited!  It is just the one I have been looking for, and thanks to Arista at Nickel N Dime Graphics, for all her hard work and great care in making this available for purchase on her site!  Kudos to you my dear!

Things have been crazy around the house getting ready for fall!  I have been cleaning out some things and getting ready for my fall yard sale on Saturday this week.  So much to do!

Pete and I went down to the Ohio River Park last night for the last Summer Concert series for the year.  It turned out to be a very nice night for it after the rain.  We took the bike, which ended up being a very cold ride home, but we had fun.

Well, it is getting time for Jake to get ready for bed, so I will say cya for today…thanks for stopping by!  Grammy Laurie

Today has been a long day!  It seems like I have been going non stop.  Some days slip past so quickly it seems like I just stepped out of the shower and its already time to put my pajamas back on.  I had fun today though.  Amanda and I went to see a very racy movie…that if I knew now what the movie was about, I never would have gone with my daughter to see it let alone gone to see it at all.  It was called good luck chuck, and it was trashy.  Lots of sex scenes in it..ugh…very wierd with your daughter, but I handled it alright I think….I looked straight ahead and only looked at her during the funny parts….we talked about it afterwards…and she agreed that without the nasty parts, it would have been an alright movie…chick flick type, but boy the sex parts were very graphic.   LOL…oh well…we live we learn.

Pete got his tire fixed on his bike and was happy to get it back.  I will be glad I think, which is sad to say, cause I want to support him with this whole bike thing, but I will be glad when winter comes and he isnt riding it all the time.  It worries me, but I am a worrier and this is just another thing I have to get through.  It doesnt help when the dude changing his tire was just in a bike accident and he tells me that 17 of his buddies have all been in bike accidents this year….geez….why do people do that…tell you the last thing you want to hear.  Well, I pray every day for him, every time he gets on it, and I know he isnt the kind to show off and play around on it doing crazy stunts, so that makes me feel better.  Anyways, I know God will keep him.

Well, as it is almost my bedtime, I am going to get off here, but I will leave you with my friday meme:

    1. Things next to your bed: A nightstand  and my robe
    2. Things you would like to have, regardless of cost: beautiful furniture…a large built in swimming pool
    3. Things you wish you hadn’t done: I wish I hadnt eaten that cookie this afternoon…it was big and fattening, and now I have to walk longer tomorrow..lol
    4. Things you would like to learn: I would like to learn to cook fabulous meals, I would lke to learn to play the piano

    What are yours?

Hi everyone, I am going to attempt a new venture in blogging.  It is called payperpost.  It is where a person reviews and blogs about different topics that are relevent to them and get paid to do it.  I am hoping this will be big for me.  I am always in the search for new and different topics to blog about, as this is my new and facinating toy.  I hope you all bear with me through this process and help and encourage me in this endeavor.  Thanks, Grammy Laurie

    Hello!

Just a great wednesday afternoon here in Kentucky!  I have been enjoying the beautiful sun and cool breeze today.  It got up to 90 again today, but it didnt feel that hot.  We did alot of running today and stopped and had a nice lunch at Tumbleweed.  Then came home and got a short nap, then played with Jake outside for a long time, then gave him a bath and he is playing and hopefully wearing himself out for bed…lol.  Grammy can only hope.  A nice quiet evening would top it off.

My friend Lisa and I went to the gaslight festival in J-town yesterday evening.  We went by ourselves, and had a great time!  No kids or hubbies!!  We walked around and looked at all the booths and saw some old friends, then ate and listened to some kareoke.  We didnt get home till late, but it was good to get out alone for a while with a friend.

Today, Pete and I got up early and went yard saling.  I found some really great things and enjoyed a very cool autumn day together.  We got some breakfast then later some lunch then got home and actually got a really good nap!  What a great weekend!  Hope yours is going well!!  Grammy

    Good Morning Everyone!

I woke up this morning with a thousand things going through my mind, not the least of which was trying to figure out how to change my blog to look more fall like.   I found a site that offered an orange background template, not too bad, but it wont change the header image to what I want…ugh!  I even deleted the main header out of the image folder and yet…there it still is.  I found the place in the coding to put the new header name and yet…not there…what am I doing wrong???  Crazy thing!

I love waking up early in the morning.  It is so peaceful and quiet!!  I know I wont be disturbed for at least a couple hours…which really gives me a boost in the morning!  I can do whatever I like…which is usually getting on the computer and fussing around on here….lol.

I also know that I will always get to say Hi to Stacey in the morning.  She is usually up with the baby early and pops on to say good morning.  It used to be my son Matthew would also be on and pop in, but he is living in our basement now and doesnt have his computer.

Today will probably be a busy one, I want to go to Walmart and look for some fall things to put out, then I want to go to some yard sales.  Amanda is off today, so that will be a nice change. Well, it is time to start my day now.  I will leave you with this thought…..

“The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans are suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they’re okay, then it’s you.”
