Grandma''s and Grandpa's
are everything nice
Like presents and candy
and raspberry ice
And chocolate fudge sundaes,
with cherries on top
And popcorn and peanuts
and grape soda pop
In winter or summer,
in rain or in sun
Grandma's and Grandpa's
are wonderful fun

Hello again!  I can’t believe how fast these days are going!  It is already the end of January!  I had yesterday off and Pete was going to take Amanda to the malls to pay off all of her store credit cards, but she wanted to also get a few things for Jacob for his upcoming birthday, and as dads are he didnt want to walk around the mall while she shopped, so I told him that I would take her…it should only be a few hours….right….Well, it ended up we left at 10 am and didnt get home until after 8 pm.  I was so tired and so upset, I had left my check book at home so I couldnt even pick up a few things myself..which makes for a very sucky day of shopping when all you can do is window shop.  I could have had Amanda pay for it then pay her back, but her bank is 40 minutes from the house, so I would have had to go back into Louisville to deposit the money for her and that is just too much  hassle.  So, although she had a good time paying things off and shopping, I was so depressed and tired and my feet hurt and I had nothing to show for my day off, not even a few hours to myself which I would have had if I had only let Pete take her..ugh!  Oh well, that is what we mothers do for our children…even as adults we still sacrafice for them…lol.  So, today I am going to rest and if anyone comes around bugging me they are going to be turned away with a door in their face..lol.  I will put a sign on my door….GO AWAY NOTHING IS THAT IMPORTANT THAT YOU PUT YOURSELF THROUGH WHAT YOU WILL HEAR IF YOU KNOCK ON THIS DOOR!

LOL.  ok, now that I am done venting, lol, I got up early this morning to have the quiet house to myself until the yahoos wake up then I will retreat to my room and watch movies.  I  love mornings quiet like this so I can enjoy a cup of coffee and check my emails and read others pages before anyone gets up and turns on the tv or starts jabbering…lol

Well you all have a great weekend!  hugs, Grammy Laurie

Hello again, I have been so lax in posting lately…I am letting life catch up and pass me by..my goodness. I need to stay ahead of things and the harder I try the farther behind I get..lol. I have enjoyed this weekend off, just cleaning and relaxing. I still have to watch Jake in the evening, but I am getting alot done in the house. I have had the last hour to myself as no one else was up yet. But I hear them stirring up there, so it was short lived…ah well. I have spent the last half an hour reading my emails and visiting a few blogs and websites. I enjoy reading your posts and seeing that , well, life happens to all of us..lol.

Amanda just brought jake down and on goes the cartoonies as we call them…lol. I love to see him in the morning with his messy tousalled hair flopping around and his sweet little kisses and big hugs he gives me! There is nothing sweeter in the world that I can think of than a kiss and hug from a grandchild! Than, once he is really awake, he realizes once again that he is after all a toddler and as such must research and terrorize every object and table he sees…lol. He is such a climber and loves to take everything off the coffee table and sit in the middle of it to watch his cartoons. He has done that since he could get up on it…now we realize, that as that was so funny and cute at the time, now I cant have anything on that coffee table as he will take it all off…ugh. oh well, it wont last for long, and I find these little things arent such great tradgedies. he wont be 8 years old and sitting on my coffee table…lol.

Well, I am off again to do some reading of emails and maybe I might be able to work on my tea tyme friend page for the group I am in. Have a great day! hugs, Grammy Laurie

Ok everyone, I have a dilemma going on in our household.  Jacob my grandson, who is 23 months today,  has been giving us fits when it comes to eating.  Amanda and I have tried everything to get this little guy to try new foods, anything other than chicken nuggets, fries, peanut butter and jelly, and bagels with cream cheese.  Over the course of a week, I guess he gets the basic food groups in, but he wont try new things.  We have started giving him the V8 fruit and veggie juice, which gives him all the vitamins he needs as far as fruits and vegtables go, but he needs to eat also…right?  He still wants a formula bottle at night when he goes to sleep, and we are trying to break him of that too, but are afraid he wont get all the vitamins he needs if we take him off it completly.

This is his normal eating pattern:

Breakfast: blueberry or apple cinnamon bagel with cream cheese, juice, and fruit loops.

We have tried every breakfast food and he wont touch anything else.

    Lunch:

chicken nuggets and fries, apple slices, or peanut butter and jelly sandwich

Dinner: if he didnt eat chicken nuggets for lunch that is what he wants and wont try anything else.

He also eats crackers and cheetos and banana on occasion

We keep trying all different kinds of foods, chicken, beef, mac and cheese, spaghetti, nothing..he wont even try them.  And we try raw fruits and veggies and he wont try those either.  He is in a rut and we cant seem to get him out of it….HELP US PLEASE!  LOL!

Let us know if you can help in any way! Thanks, Grammy Laurie

    January 11: Hot Toddy Day

     Jan 11 Hot Toddy Day

    January 12: National Marzipan Day

Good Morning everyone!  Today has been a relaxing day so far.  I have to go into work later, but for now I have been spending the morning updating my blog…notice the new theme..lol.  I have also been updating pictures of the grandbabies, you can see them on their pages.  And my fliker photos.  There is so much involved in all of this..good gracious.  I still have to update my websites I have.  I made a new years page: http://www.grammycakes.com/newyearspage/index.html

I am also working on a Valentines page, which should be ready this weekend sometime…hopefully.

I have my FCN Pages also:

    http://www.grammycakes.com/christmasfcnpage/christmasset/index.html

And here is the other page:

    http://www.grammycakes.com/dedicationpage/index.html

I have fun making pages, but unfortunatly I don’t have alot of time to do it.  My desire is to one day have my own laptop that no one else uses tha I can take with me to work and while it is slow I can make more pages.  Well, I have alot more to do today yet, so I am off here for now, have a great day!  Grammy Laurie

I decided, although I do not support any of the canidates directly, I thought I would do some research or at least post some of the information that is going around about some of the canidates…one of the things I came across was about Barack Obama….and it made me sick to my stomach….it appears we have a man who was raised as an islamic terrorist trying to weasel his way into our most prized position…the exact place we don’t want him the most….as the leader of our country!!!  Here is a snippet of what I came across:

Who is Barack Obama?Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born
in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM
from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white Athiest from
    Wichita, Kansas.
Obama’s parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two
years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His
mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.
When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama
attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a
    Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is
quick to point out that, ‘He was once a Muslim, but that he also
    attended Catholic school.’

Obama’s political handlers are attempting to make it appear that
that he is not a radical.

Obama’s introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this
influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned
to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct
    influence over his son’s education.

Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham,
introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school
    in Jakarta.

Wahabism is the RADICAL ISLAMIC teaching that is followed by the Muslim
terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world. Since
it is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major
public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined
the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim
background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he
DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran.
Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the Pledge of Allegience nor
will he show any reverence for our flag. While others place their hands
over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and slouches.

Let us all remain alert concerning Obama’s expected presidential
    candidacy.

The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside
out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the
President of the United States, one of their own!!!!

So do some research yourself when it comes to voting, and make sure who it is your supporting…the very people we are trying to find and keep from killing us is almost at the point of having us right where he wants us…..maybe???? who knows, but be wise who you back….scary stuff!!!

Good Morning everyone!  I hope you are enjoying your day so far.  I got up late this morning, well, late is not the right word I guess, because I didnt get into bed until after midnight, so I guess I should say, I slept in.  I just got up at 9 am.  It is raining today and 40 degrees.  In the next few days we may see 70….in January??!!  How strange this weather has been this year.

I have to work today, as I had monday and Tuesday off.  We are still trying to get everyones schedules back on track after the day girl quit.  This should be the last week it is messed up.  I was able to get my son Matthew hired on, he will do the night audit shift on the weekends and maitenance during the week.  He is happy with it so far.  I have trained him some last week and the last few days of this week on the front desk end of it.  He has caught on real well.  I really hope he keeps this job, as he isnt real good at hanging on to jobs.  Say a prayer.

Well, I got all the Christmas stuff down in the house and at the hotel now.  I was so glad to get rid of the clutter feeling, but will miss the lights and color as I do every year.  Pete and I went to Lowes though this past weekend and got over $400 dollars worth of Christmas decorations for next year for less than a hundred bucks.   I was so excited…everything was 75% off.  I was hoping to get a new tree, but the ones with the multi color lights were all gone.  I don’t like the all white lights…they are too bright.

Well, I hope everyone has a blessed and happy New Year, hugs to you!  Grammy Laurie
